WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ Association

WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ Association WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ Association WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ Association

Mission of the WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ Association

The WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ ASSOCIATION (WMA) is a non-profit organization that exists to create a system of Microboards that are responsive to the needs and desires of individuals with disabilities, elders and people with other vulnerabilities. WMA supports the development of agencies for one person that demonstrate the qualities of a Microboard. While having a common set of values, individual Microboards are independent, building direct relationships with community partners and funders in support of you.

The WMA was established with the goal to provide education and a venue for collaboration among families on Microboard development. The WMA is a resource for individuals interested in developing Microboards. Microboards share their wisdom and and resources with other Microboards in the spirit of "paying it forward".

The WISCONSIN MICROBOARD™ ASSOCIATION:

  • Commits to person-friendly processes that fund individual Microboards in Wisconsin
  • Supports individual Microboards to ensure their ongoing success
  • Represents the interests of Microboards in good standing with Wisconsin fiscal employer agents, IRIS consultant agencies and the Department of Health Services – IRIS Section
  • Follows Wisconsin public policy for its impact on Microboards
  • Negotiated an exemption from Medical Assistance Personal Care (MAPC) credentialing to enable Microboards to bill for Self-Directed Personal Care (SDPC)
  • Strategically works to strengthen the status of Microboards in Wisconsin and build relationships with other Microboards and Associations nationally
